Modern day Physiatry comprises the related discipline of Physical Medicine, Rehabilitation Medicine and Electromyography. The field of Physiatry is very broad. Generally we are interested in improving and maximizing the function in our patients. In order to achieve this we assess the whole person, including physical, emotional and mental parameters. We also utilize the assistance of the therapy disciplines, which are occuptional, physical, recreational, speech and psychology to help return our patients to optimal functional levels.
