How do I schedule an appointment? Do I need a referral?

After we have received a referral from your doctor, we can schedule an appointment. To do this please call (509) 624 - 0908. NWMR is open Monday-Friday 7:30 am - 4:30 pm; a provider is always on call for emergencies.

How are physiatrists different than general care doctors?

The job of a physiatrist is to treat any disability resulting from disease or injury. The focus is not on one part of the body, but instead on the development of a comprehensive program for putting pieces of a person’s life back together after injury or disease—medically, socially, emotionally, and vocationally.

What types of insurance do you accept?

We accept most commercial insurances such as Premera, Asuris, Kaiser, and most other insurances. We currently do not accept Essence, Spokane Community Care, or Molina. We also take Medicare and Medicaid. If you are unsure, call us to confirm that we take your insurance. Most insurances require PA, Tri-Care, Labor & Industry, Workman’s Comp, and the VA.

I have a billing question. Who do I call?

If you have questions, please contact the billing department at (360) 334 - 5290 or you can log onto our Patient Portal and pay bills there.

What can I expect during my first visit?

On the first visit, be sure to bring your insurance card or cards and a picture identification. If you received paperwork in the mail to fill out, be sure to bring that with you. A copy of the appointment dictation is sent to the referring doctor. You can also review your x in the Patient Portal.
